Osun Election: PDP Files 593-Page Petition at Tribunal, Expresses Confidence in Judiciary






The Peoples Democratic Party has filed a petition at the governorship election tribunal against the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission.


While filing the petition on Tuesday in Oshogbo, the chairman of PDP, Hon. Soji Adagunodo said the party candidate, Sen. Ademola Adeleke polled the highest votes in the election.


The deputy governorship candidate of the PDP, Mr . Albert Adeogun ; and the Chairman of the PDP in the state , Mr. Soji Adagunodo , led counsels who filed the petition at the tribunal registry .



The election result declared by INEC; APC candidate polled 255, 505 while PDP candidate polled 255, 023 on 27th September 2018.



The petition with number EPT/OS/GOV/1/2018 was submitted contained 592 pages.



While Hon. Soji Adajunodo was addressing newsmen expressed that the party and the first petitioner were optimistic of victory.

He said, "We have sizable legal term to handle the process".
